The New York Mets transferred right-hander Dellin Betances to the 60-day injured list on Saturday with a right shoulder impingement.

The 33-year-old reliever landed on the 10-day IL on April 8, one day after he allowed one run in one inning in an 8-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. It was his only appearance of the season.

Acting general manager Zack Scott told reporters Friday there was no timetable for Betances’ return.

“Obviously, the shoulder is an area you always have to be mindful that we’re doing all the right things, and have a really good program set up,” Scott said. “I’ve talked to our performance staff, and we feel like we have a good plan in place, but he’s still in that strengthening portion of that so it’s hard to really project a timetable.”

A four-time All-Star with the New York Yankees, Betances went 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA in 15 appearances in his first season with the Mets in 2020.

He owns a 21-23 career record with 36 saves and a 2.53 ERA over 374 appearances. Betances has 633 strikeouts in 394 1/3 innings.
