The New York Yankees placed right-hander Clay Holmes on the COVID-19 injured list on Wednesday.

The team said the 28-year-old reliever is experiencing symptoms and awaiting test results.

The Yankees recalled right-hander Brooks Kriske as a replacement player from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Holmes, acquired in a July 26 trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates, is the latest Yankees player to end up on the COVID IL. Pitchers Gerrit Cole and Jordan Montgomery, catcher Gary Sanchez and first baseman Anthony Rizzo are also on the list.

Holmes is 1-0 with a 2.16 ERA in seven bullpen appearances for the Yankees. He was 3-2 with a 4.93 ERA in 44 games with the Pirates prior to the trade.

Kriske, 27, is 1-1 with a 10.80 ERA in seven relief appearances this season for New York.
