Analyst Jay Williams will be off the air the rest of the NBA Finals after testing positive for COVID-19.

He announced his diagnosis in a video posted to social media. He has been working as part of the ABC/ESPN studio crew with Maria Taylor, Jalen Rose and Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns are tied at two games each in the best-of-seven series. Game 5 is set for Saturday night in Phoenix.

Williams, 39, in quarantining in a hotel room.

“The last couple of days for me have been challenging. But I wanted to be the first to tell you guys that you will not see me at Game 5, Game 6 or a potential Game 7 of the NBA Finals because I have tested positive for COVID,” Williams said. “I have received both my shots. I am fully vaccinated. But this is our new normal.”

Williams also is the co-host of Keyshawn, JWill & Zubin on ESPN Radio. He played at Duke (1999-2002) and won a national championship. The Chicago Bulls selected him No. 2 overall in the 2002 NBA Draft, but injuries sustained in motorcycle accident the following spring led to the end of his pro career.
