Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis is questionable for Tuesday’s road game against the New York Knicks, potentially leaving the team without its top two players.

Davis is experiencing flu-like symptoms that the team said is not COVID related.

The Lakers already will be without star LeBron James, who is serving a one-game suspension for his role in an on-court altercation with the Detroit Pistons’ Isaiah Stewart on Sunday.

Davis had 30 points Sunday as the Lakers rallied for the 121-116 victory over the Pistons after James was ejected. He has averaged 24.6 points with 10.5 rebounds in 18 games.

It has been a rough month with non-COVID illnesses for Davis, who played just seven minutes in a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Nov. 6 because of a stomach ailment. He returned two days later in a victory over the Charlotte Hornets but left after the third quarter and vomited before returning in the fourth period.

Davis, 28, has averaged 24.5 points and 9.1 rebounds in three seasons with the Lakers since arriving from the New Orleans Pelicans. In 10 career NBA seasons, the eight-time All-Star has averaged 23.9 points with 10.2 rebounds in 582 games.
