Boston Celtics center Enes Freedom is the latest member of the team placed in COVID-19 health and safety protocols, The Athletic reported Thursday.

The Celtics now are up to eight players on the list as Freedom joins Sam Hauser, Juancho Hernangomez, Al Horford, Jabari Parker, Josh Richardson, Brodric Thomas and Grant Williams in the protocols.

In 21 games (one start) this season, Freedom is averaging 4.7 points and 5.6 rebounds over 13 minutes per game. On Wednesday, in a 111-101 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, the 29-year-old scored four points and pulled down four rebounds in 12 minutes.

To replenish the roster, the Celtics signed guards Joe Johnson and C.J. Miles and forward Justin Jackson to short-term contracts.

The next scheduled game for the Celtics is on Christmas Day against the Bucks in Milwaukee.
