The Florida Mayhem performed an Overwatch League overhaul Saturday by releasing six players from their contracts.

The team bid farewell to main tank Min-seok “OGE” Son, off-tank Beom-jun “Gargoyle” Lee, main support Sung-jin “Slime” Kim, flex support Nam-jin “Gangnamjin” Kang and DPS players Sang-beom “BQB” Lee and Seung-hun “Checkmate” Baek.

“You brought the Mayhem to distant shores and never once stopped fighting,” the Mayhem posted on Twitter. “Despite our struggles, you always gave each day your best effort – and in so doing, redefined what it means to #LightItUp. You made us all so proud, and we will never forget that. Thank you.”

The Mayhem finished 10th in the West Region during the 2021 season and did not make the postseason.

Only DPS Jun-ki “Yaki” Kim survived the purge as the Mayhem gear up for the 2022 OWL season, which begins in April. Head coach Dae-kuk “KuKi” Kim also appears to have remained with the team.
