G2 Esports and Natus Vincere each recorded a victory Saturday to advance to the Grand Final of the $1 million Intel Extreme Masters Season XVI — Cologne.

G2 Esports posted a 2-1 win over Astralis, while Natus Vincere swept Faze Clan in two straight maps. The victorious sides will meet in Sunday’s Grand Final, with the winner set to take home $400,000.

G2 Esports sandwiched a 16-6 win on Nuke and 16-14 victory on Inferno around a 16-12 setback on Dust II.

Frenchman Francois “AmaNEk” Delaunay had 61 kills and a plus-12 kills-to-death differential to pace G2 Esports.

Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen had 60 kills and joined Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander with a team-best plus-5 kills-to-death differential for the all-Dane Astralis club.

Natus Vincere dispatched FaZe Clan with 16-7 wins in both Inferno and Mirage.

The Ukraine’s Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev had 52 kills and a plus-30 kills-to-death differential for Natus Vincere.

Norway’s Havard “rain” Nygaard collected 36 kills and an even kills-to-death differential to pace FaZe Clan.

The tournament marks the first competitive CS:GO event played on LAN in roughly 16 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Though the teams are facing off in person, they are in a studio setting as opposed to an arena with fans.
