Due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in the United States, event organizer Riot Games has announced a move of the League of Legend Championship Series (LCS) away from the Prudential Center in New Jersey to Los Angeles’ LCS Arena.

A report from The Verge confirmed that there would not be ticket sales (and no live audience) for the event at the new venue.

“We scheduled the LCS Championship as a road show with fans and made the decision to move forward based on the very promising roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccine in the Spring,” the announcement stated. “Given the current state of affairs, we cannot in good conscience conduct a massive fan event at this time.”

The league had moved to an all-virtual format in recent weeks following positive tests from multiple players.
