League of Legends pro Yoppa dies of COVID-19 complications

Pavle “Yoppa” Kostic, who competed professionally in League of Legends since 2016, died of complications related to COVID-19. He was 23.

Esports Balkan League confirmed his death, which occurred Tuesday, on social media, and his former teams and teammates paid tribute to him.

“We have wonderful memories of you and our time spent with you in Berlin,” Team Vitality posted to Twitter. “You will remain forever engraved in our memories. Our thoughts are with your family and friends. Rest in peace, Pavle.”

Yoppa played with a number of academy teams in his career, including Vitality.Bee, MAD Lions and Giants Gaming. The Serbian most recently was the top laner with Schalke Evolution.
