Jiri “LiNkzr” Masalin is looking to become the latest professional esports player to make the transition from Overwatch to Valorant.

The 27-year-old Finland native announced Monday on social media that he is leaving the Vancouver Titans of the Overwatch League.

LiNkzr wrote, “I’m retiring from as an competitive overwatch player, im still curious about coaching/analyst positions for some time, but im really curious about valorant and it’s pro scene, ow2 going 5v5 really doesn’t interest me from based on what i saw as a player at least. my competitive drive is massive so i’ll give valorant an honest go.”

He added, “I really appreciated my time as a ow player and it’s a bit shame that I didn’t really achieve my goals fully. I met so many wonderful people that i get to call my friends and I hope to have these bonds for years to come. I’m really happy that I got to experience this game with yall”

LiNkzr, a DPS player, was part of a Titans team that went 1-15 in the 2021 Overwatch League, finishing 19th among the 20 teams.

He previously played for Team Dignitas and the Houston Outlaws before joining Vancouver last December. LiNkzr was part of the Finnish team that finished tied for fifth in the 2018 Overwatch World Cup.
