Natus Vincere swept FaZe Clan to take first place in Group C on Tuesday in the ESL Pro League Season 14 event.
With the loss, FaZe Clan fell into a three-way tie at 3-2, lost the tiebreakers and found themselves eliminated from the tournament. mousesports and Fnatic took second and third place to advance to the playoffs.
BIG and Evil Geniuses were also eliminated from the event.
NaVi finished group action 4-1 thanks to their sweep of FaZe, which featured a 16-7 win on Inferno followed by a 19-17 overtime triumph on Nuke.
To sew up a playoff berth, mousesports defeated BIG 2-1. They opened with a 16-12 win on Nuke, absorbed a 16-7 loss on Dust II and finally prevailed 16-12 on Mirage.
Fnatic swept Evil Geniuses, 16-11 on Nuke and 16-14 on Inferno, to also finish 3-2.
FaZe Clan had the worst map differential in head-to-head contests against Fnatic and mousesports, leaving the U.S.-based esports organization the odd team out.
The 24-team, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive league is broken into four groups for the round-robin opening round. The winner of each group advances to the playoff quarterfinals, while the second- and third-place teams in each group qualify for the playoffs’ Round of 12.
All matches are best-of-three until the playoff final on Sept. 12, which will be best-of-five. The championship team will earn $175,000 from a $750,000 prize pool. The runner-up will receive $60,000.
The first two groups already concluded their round robins. Heroic won Group A, with Team Vitality and ENCE claiming second and third, respectively. In Group B, the top three were OG, forZe and Complexity Gaming.
