PSG.LGD defeat Team Spirit to win OGA Dota PIT Invitational

PSG.LGD defeated Team Spirit 3-1 in the grand final to claim the OGA Dota PIT Invitational title on Friday.

After Team Spirit secured the opening map with a 32-minute win on green, PSG.LGD stormed back with wins of 37 minutes on green, 40 minutes on red and 42 minutes on green.

Wang “Ame” Chunyu posted a dominant average kills-deaths-assists ratio of 11.0-2.0-5.5 to lead the all-Chinese PSG roster. Zhao “XinQ” Zixing averaged a game-high 15.3 assists per map, and Zhang “xiao8” Ning averaged a 7.0-4.8-11.0 ratio.

In defeat, Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek of Russia recorded a 4.8-2.8-7.5 average ratio for Team Spirit. Ukrainian Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk added a 4.3-3.0-9.3 ratio per map.

PSG.LGD, an esports organization created in a partnership between China’s LGD Gaming and French soccer club Paris St. Germain, were a strong contender from the start of the tournament. They advanced through the upper bracket, including a 2-0 sweep of Tundra Esports in the upper bracket final, before finishing the job Friday.

Team Spirit dropped its opening match 2-1 to T1, but breezed through the lower bracket with four straight wins to reach the grand final.

The SAPPHIRE OGA Dota PIT Invitational is an eight-team, double-elimination Dota 2 invitational with a $275,000 prize pool. All matches are best-of-three until Friday’s best-of-five grand final.
