The 2021 League of Legends World Championship will take place in Iceland, Dot Esports reported Monday.

Riot Games confirmed last week that the event was being moved from China to Europe due to the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant. Riot did not reveal a specific country in Europe at the time.

Iceland previously hosted the Mid-Season Invitational in May.

Monday’s report did not indicate whether Iceland will be the only venue, or whether audiences would be allowed at Worlds 2021.

Responding to a request from Dot Esports for comment, Riot said further updates will be coming this week.

Twenty-four teams will compete for a $2.25 million prize pool at Worlds 2021. Qualifying teams so far include Summer Split champions FunPlus Phoenix (LPL), DAMWON Gaming (LCK), MAD Lions (LEC) and 100 Thieves (LCS).
