Team Vitality win Group A final at BLAST Premier: Fall event

Team Vitality rallied to a 2-1 victory over Astralis on Saturday in the Group A grand final at the BLAST Premier: Fall Groups event.

Astralis posted a 16-10 victory on Nuke before Vitality responded with a 16-10 win on Vertigo and 16-9 triumph on Dust II. Team Vitality received $25,000 and 1,600 BLAST Premier points for finishing in 1st-3rd place.

Kevin “misutaaa” Rabier had 56 kills and fellow Frenchman Jayson “Kyojin” Nguyen Van had a plus-8 kills-to-death differential for Team Vitality.

Denmark’s Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen recorded 60 kills and a plus-9 kills-to-death differential for Astralis, who received $12,500 and 800 BLAST Premier points for their 4th-6th place finish.

Astralis advanced to the grand final with a 2-1 victory over Team Liquid in the lower bracket final.

Astralis answered a 16-9 setback on Vertigo with a 16-11 win on Nuke and 16-13 victory on Dust II.

Denmark’s Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen had 63 kills and a plus-14 kills-to-death differential for Astralis.

American Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski had 61 kills and Canadian Keith “NAF” Markovic had a plus-11 kills-to-death differential for Team Liquid. The side pocketed 7,500 and 600 points for finishing in 7th-9th place.

Twelve teams, broken into three groups, are competing for shares of $150,000 in the event that runs through Sept. 26. The top two teams from each group advance to the Fall Finals while the bottom two from each group advance to the Fall Showdown. The winner earns $25,000.

All matches are best-of-three in the double-elimination format.

Group B action begins Monday and Group C on Sept. 24.

The first team eliminated, Evil Geniuses earned $5,000 and 400 BLAST Premier points for finishing in 10th-12th place.
