TNC Predator will release the five members of its dormant Dota 2 team on Wednesday.

The Philippines-based organization tweeted the news Monday, saying players agreed to the move.

On July 26, about three weeks after failing to qualify for The International 10, TNC announced it was putting Dota 2 competitions on hold.

“Our team, TNC Predator, will take its time to recharge and realign for the next TI season,” the team said then in a statement. “A lot has happened since the pandemic breakout and we want the players to use this time to be with their families, take a much needed break and build the best versions of themselves as preparations for the next big fight.”

The players who will become free agents are Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte, Armel Paul “Armel” Tabios, Jun “Bok” Kanehara, Timothy “Tims” Randrup and Marvin “Boomy” Rushton.

Tims had been with TNC Predator nearly five years, while Armel and Gabbi became his teammates in 2018. Boomy and Bok signed on in March.

The players can choose to stay together as an independent roster or seek new teams individually. Organizations are likely to overhaul their rosters after the conclusion of October’s TI10.
