Min Lee of Chinese Taipei fired a 4-under 68 on Saturday to take a two-stroke lead after 54 holes at the LPGA Mediheal Championship at Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, Calif.

Finland’s Matilda Castren (69) and American Lauren Kim (71) head into Sunday’s final round tied for second two shots back at 7 under.

Switzerland’s Albane Valenzuela (68) and A Lim Kim (69) of South Korea are T4 at 6 under, three shots back.

Five players are T6 four shots back at 5 under, including 36-hole leader Danielle Kang, who faltered in the third round with a 74.

Lee polished off her round with three birdies in the last four holes. She finished with five overall against just one bogey.

“I just tried to play my game and tried to be smart on the golf course, because the golf course is very hard,” Lee said. “There is some pin placement that you want to be on the fat side of the green if you miss it.”

Valenzuela vaulted up the leaderboard with her second 68 of the tournament, sandwiched around Friday’s 74. She carded six birdies against two bogeys.

“Played some good golf out there. Really gave myself a lot of birdie opportunities and had six birdies today, which is really good, especially when the fog really started to come in. It kind of got a little tricky. I felt that I stayed really patient,” Valenzuela said. “I had two bogeys that kind of threw me off, but I think I just managed to get myself back together and finish with a birdie on two par-5s actually, so was really pleased with my round.”

Six players are T11 at 4 under, five shots behind Lee.
