Friday’s first-round play of the TimberTech Championship was postponed to Saturday because of a deluge of rain at The Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton, Fla.

Five inches of rain had fallen in the area by 11:30 a.m. ET.

The TimberTech is the second of three season-ending playoff events for the PGA Champions Tour.

Players now are scheduled to tee off Saturday at 7:45 a.m. on Holes 1 and 10, with the second round being played at the conclusion of the first round.

Bernhard Langer of Germany is in first place in the Charles Schwab Cup standings leading into the TimberTech. Darren Clarke of Northern Ireland is the defending champion.
