The Colorado Avalanche’s next three games have been postponed after a third player on the team was placed in the NHL’s COVID protocols on Friday.

The Avalanche were scheduled to host the Los Angeles Kings on both Friday and Sunday. They were then slated to open a road trip against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.

Per the league, the Avalanche will be able to re-open their facilities for practice on Wednesday and return to game action the following day in St. Louis.

Prior to the league’s announcement, the Avalanche and the Kings canceled their respective morning skates on Friday as a precaution.

Goaltender Philipp Grubauer was placed in the NHL COVID-19 protocol Wednesday and will be sidelined at least two weeks, coach Jared Bednar said. Rookie defenseman Bowen Byram, 19, has been on the NHL protocol list since last Friday.
