Lightning sign F Corey Perry to 2-year deal

After losing to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup Final the past two years with two different teams, winger Corey Perry has decided to hop on with the winners.

The Lightning signed the two-time All Star to a two-year deal worth $2 million, according to reports.

Perry, 36, had 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 22 playoff games this spring for the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs fell to the Lightning in five games. Perry had nine points (five goals, four assists) in 27 playoff games for the Dallas Stars in 2020 as they also lost to the Lightning in the finals.

Perry has 818 points (386 goals, 432 assists) in 1,094 career games with the Habs, Stars and Anaheim Ducks (2005-19), who drafted him No. 28 overall in the 2003 draft.
