Edmonton Oilers forward Zack Kassian is considered week-to-week with a lower-body injury, coach Dave Tippett announced Saturday.

Kassian exited the Oilers’ 4-3 loss to Montreal on Wednesday in the first period after administering a hit to Canadiens captain Shea Weber. Kassian got the worst of it, however. He struggled to his feet and needed assistance from the training staff to return to the locker room.

Kassian, 30, has collected five points (two goals, three assists) in 27 games this season.

He has 182 points (84 goals, 98 assists) in 552 career games with the Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks and Oilers.

Kassian was selected by the Sabres with the 13th overall pick of the 2009 NHL Draft.
