Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain won his first career ATP 500 trophy and sixth overall tour title with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph over Filip Krajinovic in the Hamburg European Open final on Sunday.

The victory concluded a week in which Carreno Busta, the No. 2 seed, didn’t lose a set. It was his second win of the year after his victory at the Andalucia Open in Marbella, Spain, in April.

On Sunday, he won 81 percent (21 of 26) of his first service points and dominated on defense, converting all three of his break opportunities against the sixth-seeded Serb in the 83-minute match.

“I felt very comfortable during the whole week from the first match,” said Carreno Busta, the first Spaniard to win in Hamburg since Rafael Nadal in 2015. “I think that I played very good and I continued improving during the week. That’s very important and today in the final I probably played the best match of the tournament.”

Nordea Open

Top seed Casper Ruud of Norway defeated Federico Coria of Argentina 6-3, 6-3 in Bastad, Sweden, to win his third ATP Tour title.

Ruud needed just one hour, 28 minutes to defeat Coria and win his second title of the year, following the Geneva Open in May. He is 3-2 in ATP Tour finals, also winning last year in Buenos Aires.

Coria was playing in his first tour-level final.
